EnCon sanitation fleet services Town during a heavy winter snow storm, providing the best of services for the Town of Babylon.

On February 9, 2017, the EnCon Sanitation Fleet that services the Town of Babylon still rolled in full operations during the first few hours of the winter snow storm.

On February 9, 2017, Town of Babylon, togetherwith Long Island was hit hard by a winter storm that dumped almost 13 inches ofwet heavy snow in the region.  That day, the EnCon Sanitation trucks that serviced the Town of Babylon still rolled in full operations during the first few hours of the storm.  All Thursday garbage collection activities and Yard waste collection were conducted according to operations plan.  When asked about services on a snow day, EnCon’s General Manager Anthony Pepe replied, “we take a lot of care in makingour decision to roll the fleet, safety is the number one concern together with our training and the needs of the Town’s residents.”  He noted that collection activities were successfully completed without any accidents or injury.  “We made the right decision today,” Pepe said.  In addition to garbage collection,EnCon’s trucks plow snow off streets in assigned areas of the Town.  Chief of snow plowing operations, Anthony Kennedy said that “all activities on my (his) end of the Town’s emergency services when well, but this snow was partiality difficult to work with.”  Interestingly, other Long Island sanitation companies were not in operation during the day of the storm and did not collect garbage for the Town’s they service.
